This summer has been so much fun! I can’t believe it’s already August. Where has the time gone?!
Recently I went to a place in the mountains where they have really good sajj. It’s bread made on a dome shaped grill and you can have cheese put on the bread and melted, thyme, or meat. It’s so good and you can eat them with labneh (dried yogurt). So yummy! I went with my husband, his parents, his sister and her family and his other sister. We had the best time!
A week or so ago I went to this beautiful place by the water where you can sit and look out at the sea and visit with friends. My husband, sister-in-law and I went and spent a lovely evening there. It was lots of
fun and the sunset was beautiful!
I would like to go back sometime and have dinner at this cute place out on the water. 🙂
I have been baking a lot recently and noticed a new recipe on Pinterest that sounded good. It’s called a Cinnabon cinnamon roll cake. Needless to say, it was amazing! How could it not be with “cinnabon” in the title. 😉 I have made two in the past week and a half. But I shared both of them of course, though, I definitely could have eaten it all by myself, it was that good.
Seriously, you should stop what you are doing and make this cake!
This past weekend we went to Ain Dara again and spent the night. It was so nice and quiet and cool there. We had lunch in my in law’s garden and we took a walk and saw the beautiful views in the mountains. It was lots of fun!
We even had our own little photo shoot on our walk. 🙂
What a fun way to spend a weekend!
Soooo, it’s been a while since I’ve posted and I am sorry for that. I have good intentions and then one thing or another comes along and changes my plans. Last week I had a camp I helped with up in the mountains. It was a camp for teens that was organized by my sister-in-law and her team at the organization where she works. There were probably about 40 or so kids, boys and girls. It was a beautiful campsite, very quiet and peaceful. The 3 days we were there seemed short when I thought about getting to know my group. There were so many things I wanted to talk to them about. But I did what I could in the time I had and I loved being with the 2 boys and 4 girls in my group during discussions and Bible study time. They were very attentive and asked some really great questions during our discussion time.
Our schedule was very full while we were at the camp. We woke up each morning and had leader devotions at 7:30am. For those that know me, this is very early for me. I am NOT a morning person. Then we had group devotions with our team at 8:30 and then breakfast. Then we had worship starting at 10:30 and our large group Bible study time from 11-12. Then activities from 12-1, lunch at 1 and then another session at 3. We had more activities from 4-5, then showers and dinner and then another session at 8 and then lights out at 11:30pm. All in all, the day was packed and I was super tired by the end of the camp, but enjoyed it so much! I made new friends with the leaders that were there. We also had two couples from a church in NC that came so I was excited to visit with others from the US.
Here are a few pics from the camp.
This was one of the views from the camp. Gorgeous!
We went out to eat one night at a nearby restaurant. It was a fun outing for everyone!
I had such a fun time at this camp and learned so much myself as the Lord was speaking to all of us through the sessions and through our groups. I am grateful I was able to be a part of it and look forward to next year! 🙂
In my next post I hope to put up some pics of the apartment. I have added some pics on the walls and it looks a little more homey so I will try to “give a tour”. See you soon!
